I recently had the pleasure of working with Portland based food photographer and now studio owner Jennifer Bravo. For anyone not familiar go follow @itsjennybravo on Instagram – she’s a must-follow with all of her gorgeous mouth watering content.
She has recently just finished the renovation of the most open, airy, and beautiful photography studio I’ve ever seen. Im not kidding – all of the natural light, and marble countertops really make me want to just set up shop and work there every single day.
To celebrate the opening she reached out to involve me in helping design and plan an intimate dinner party with her closest friends – a studio warming if you will. Because she is also a vintage prop curator I wanted to make sure that the design for the dinner was pretty much made up of all vintage items.
Farm tables filled the spaced with wooden cross-back chairs to match. We then brought in luscious florals from one of my all-time favorites, Petalage Floral. Mixed vintage china plates and pink goblets for wine complimented the cosmos and white roses perfectly.
Lake & Co Catering created the perfect fresh, Maine style meal. Oysters, Compressed Watermelon, and Seared Tuna were all on the menu. Each course being tastefully matched by a wine chosen by the Cheese Shop.
Guests were welcomed into the dinner with a glass of (super delicious) champagne out of a vintage coup from Jenny’s own prop closet. After a bit of mingling they sat to enjoy the night and the best meal.
I am so grateful to have been a part of such a special event. I can’t wait to see all the amazing content that comes out of Jenny’s studio and what exciting and beautiful stuff she comes up with next!
