Four-Legged Guest of Honor

How to incorporate your pet into your big day

So many of us want to incorporate our pets into our big day. Your four-legged friend is a huge part of your relationship and daily lives, of course they deserve a special feature at the big event! Whether your venue is pet friendly or not, we can tie your pet seamlessly into the day.

When thinking of how to feature a couple’s dog at their wedding, the most commonly thought-of way is at the ceremony. Whether they’re the ring bearer or walked down the aisle by a trusted member of the wedding party, we think this is a classic and adorable way to physically include your pet.

What if your venue is not pet friendly, or your pup isn’t quite crowd-friendly? Here are some of our favorite ways to feature the pet without having them physically present.

Photos: Include your pet in your engagement photos! You’ll likely be using these on your save-the-dates, invitations, and even as wedding decor. It would be a beautiful way to showcase them.

Details: Many creators are making beautiful napkins, drink stirrers, coasters, thank you tags, and more with your pet’s photo, or a drawing of them. We recently attended an event that had local cookies as a thank you gift, and the tag had the couple’s pup’s face on it! We thought it was the perfect touch without being overdone. The options are endless when it comes to customizing your event details.

Indirectly: If you’re not one to feature photos or drawings of your pet at your wedding, or that wouldn’t quite fit your theme, you can still incorporate them indirectly. We love the idea of naming your signature cocktail after your pet, as it creates a wonderful talking point for your guests.

No matter your style or theme, it’s possible to bring your beloved four-legged friend into your big day. Remember, your day is about celebrating you as a couple, your love, and your future together. If your pet is a part of your love story, that’s reason enough to highlight them on your wedding day!
